Day 3
At the start of the day, we ate breakfast at the hotel. It consisted of white rice, mackerel, Japanese egg omelet, miso soup, sour plum, meat balls, and konjac (a japanese root vegetable). After breakfast, we flew from Tokyo to Hokkaido. We ate lunch at a food court in Sapporo airport. After checking into the ryokan (Japanese traditional inn), we met Japanese college students, split up into small groups, and had free time with them. With my group, we went to yosakoi (a japanese dance festival in Sapporo). Many groups from different countries competed in this dance competition. Lastly, we ate dinner and sang fun songs at the karaoke center. Singing in Japanese was challenging, but we were surprised at how good the college students at karaoke!
